Ashley & Darryl started All Styles, All Occasions with a passion for music and dance. Together, they performed and taught in a variety of venues, laughing and loving the stress relief and excitement that came with each event. In an effort to share this joy with the community, we started a local Community Performance Troupe.
The dance troupe has performed at a wide range of events, from fundraisers to small entertainment events, and even within full fledged productions. Each experience has brought a sense of camaraderie to the group, and personal growth for all of those involved. You could say they've become quite a large family, full of personality and talent, with a dash of sass here and there.
Auditions are held each fall, just before the Academic Year begins. Practices involve learning combinations and critiquing technique. Once on the team, performers are required to attend regular technique lessons and follow higher standards as ambassadors of our company. Events are by invitation, and therefore vary annually.
Performing in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding areas for the 2021-2022 Season are:
Kinley Brady
Madison Hendrick
Jader Hoolsema
Jasmine Hoolsema
Kara Kangas
Hope Lund
Elizabeth Maloney
Isabella Stratton
Pas de Deux dancers learn to partner with respect, grace, and dignity. Ladies & Gentlemen learn partner acrobatic stunts, ballroom dance, and the essence of pas de deux through ballet technique.
To audition, dancers must perform improvisation routines to various types of songs and in a wide range of styles. Dancers must also demonstrate advanced skill level and choreography retention, in both group and individual settings. This group will often perform with the Community Performance Troupe, but also make guest appearances in a variety of ASAO Recreational Performances.
Partners of ASAO Dance for the 2021-2022 Season are:
Jader Hoolsema & Jasmine Hoolsema
When on the ASAO Competition team, dancers attend at least 3 competitions. Each dancer is working hard in technique courses and through additional rehearsals to maximize potential at the technical level that is a nationwide standard for dance. We look forward to continuing to raise the "barre" as we travel and learn from industry professionals.
To audition, dancers must perform improvisation routines to various types of songs and in a wide range of styles. Dancers must also demonstrate advanced skill level and choreography retention, in both group and individual settings. At the conclusion of auditions, dancers are invited to enroll into competition rehearsals as a soloist, in a duet, in a trio, or in a group. This prestigious invitation comes with great commitment!
